2023 Market Review - Lincoln/Mercury 1957-1984
It gets repetitive we know but compare the price of an early Mercury Cougar with the money being sought for a smaller, more basic Mustang. XR7 versions of the Mercury are even more desirable, with the 390 Cubic inch (6.4-litre) motor and extra features for less than $50,000.
Full-size Park Lane and Monterey models are value as well, costing around the same as a basic Galaxie and cheaper than T-Birds of similar age. Affordable and very plush are 1970s Lincoln Continental two-doors and the big Town Car sedan. Most models can be found in good condition for around $30,000.
Lincolns from the 1950s were once scarce in Australia but recent arrivals, still LHD, are gaining a following. A recently restored Hardtop was seen at less than $70,000.
