2022 Market Review - Lexus 1989-2010
After 30 years of trying to become Japan’s Mercedes-Benz, Lexus has found its niche and is even creating a bit of heritage. Pick of the earlier releases in our view is the mid-sized GS300, which offers more fun and is less expensive than the LS400 and LS430.
At $12-15,000 for excellent 2003-08 cars, they aren’t expensive either. SC430 convertibles for quite some time suffered awful depreciation but they are recovering and average better than $30,000.
In the market for an HSV or BMW? Then perhaps consider the 311kW IS-F which at under $50,000 offers serious performance and value.
As an ‘out there’ Future Classic punt, the Hybrid GS450 currently (sorry) sells for about 15 percent of its original price.
LS400 1989-00 $10,320 (11)
LS430 2001-05 $17,920 (18)
LS460 $26,915 (16)
GS300 1998-03 $6425 (4)
GS300 2004-08 $13,390 (27)
IS F 5.0 2007-10 $48,060 (14)
SC430 $33,635 (14)
GS450H $17,060 (8)
