High-performance saloon
Though having the appearance of a big heavy saloon car, Jaguar’s Mark VII series won more than its fair share of races over time, including a Monte Carlo Rally.
The standard driveline was a 3.4 DOHC inline six – pretty high spec for the time – matched to a four-speed manual transmission. A three-speed automatic was also available.
There were two generations of the model, 1950-54 and the M variant of 1954-56. The car shown here is the latter, which means it’s running upgraded 190hp powerplant and in manual form claimed a 104mph (167km/h) top speed.
This example with auto transmission is said to have received a considerable amount of work, including body, paint and mechanical.
Located in Casterton, Vic, it is on the market at $35,000
