Something for everyone at massive Eastern Creek event
Yesterday’s Shannons Sydney Classic claimed some 1600 display cars crammed in to Sydney Motorsport Park (the former Eastern Creek) and was a great success.
Run by the NSW Council of Motor Clubs, the event is a one-stop shop for anyone wanting see a cross-section of classics from across the globe.
A highlight for participants is the track tour, where they get to go for a cruise around the circuit.
If you didn’t bring your own car, or simply wanted a different persepctive, a couple of classic double-decker buses were offering rides.
The event is very well-run and participants generally book in a fair way in advance. Nevertheless there’s no drama with turning up on the day, if you have no plan to be part of the main displays.
The event is of such a size that you can struggle to see everything in one day, and there’s certainly no lack of variety.
Unique Cars mag was there, having driven up from Melbourne in the Ed’s Kingswood.
Look for our report in an upcoming mag, including a profile of some of the cars and their owners.
In the meantime, enjoy the 100-plus pics in our gallery.
