Holden VH Commodore SL – Todays Tempter

Described like the find we all dream of: one owner since new, less than 25,000ks travelled, all original.

Aussie family rigs in their day were little more than consumables. Tasked with ferrying the kids to school, the wage-earners to work, and maybe pulling a caravan on the weekend – these tireless steeds were once little more than part of the landscape of our lives. If they weren’t traded in for something newer – they were probably eventually left at the tip with little to no idea that these humble family cars would once find themselves as collectibles.

Indeed, if someone had told us that these old things would one day be incredibly sought after – you probably would have laughed.

It’s a different story now, however. And this VH SL Wagon sounds like the find we all dream of.

The humble wagon is described as a one-owner car since new, and is said to remain in extremely good and original condition with only minor paint blemishes from age and the addition of driving lights.

The car is said to have travelled just 23,450 kilometres, and has always been garaged and fully registered. The photos in the listing show an extremely well-kept car with a like-new interior – said to still bear that “new car smell in the rear”.

It’s fitted with the 2.85lt six and four-speed manual and, if it truly is as described, would be a near unrepeatable find of a classic Aussie family wagon.

The car is based in New South Wales and is listed for $35,000.
