Classic chrome-bumper luxury, and one of the nicest examples we’ve seen
The HZ Holden was a significant step up from the preceding HX, with those three magic letters; “RTS” (Radial Tuned Suspension).
The cars handled far better than their understeer-ridden predecessors, and new for the range of Statesman models were four-wheel disc brakes.
The Statesman DeVille was the low-spec offering within the luxury model; below the mid-range SL/E launched in 1979 and the top-spec Caprice.
This HZ Statesman DeVille here looks like an absolute peach, with the seller stating there’s nothing left to do on the car, just drive and enjoy!
With new paint and no rust repairs needed, new brakes at all four corners with rebuilt calipers, new master cylinder; plus new air-con unit as well as radiator, heater core and exhaust, the seller states that lots of money has been tipped into this cruiser.
Selling due to running out of space, the car will come on new tyres and is fitted with a 308ci V8 and automatic gearbox.
It presents stunningly in photos, and looks like a good buy for anyone after an honest classic weekend cruiser.
The car is based in Victoria and is listed for $26,500.
