2023 Market Review - Holden Monaro HK-HG GTS V8
First Gen. Monaros hit their price peak a while back and have been sitting steadily ever since.
This year saw no ‘Bathurst’ cars at all in the sample, suggesting that the motivation to sell spurred by high 2019-21 prices has abated. It might also have helped sell a couple of HG GTS350s that otherwise might not have got close to $200,000.
Genuine HK GTS V8s have prospects for appreciation and will justify higher values than the Aussie-engined HT-HG cars. Naturally, check closely for mechanical authenticity before paying a high prices for an apparently correct car.
There is nothing at all wrong with buying a Munro that began life as a six and is now running a V8, but it won’t be worth nearly the same money as a real one.
HK GTS V8 $182,225 [2]
HT-HG GTS V8 $142,145 [7]
