Holden Monaro GTS HQ-HZ – market review 2017-18

Mid-range cars have cracked the $100k barrier

Holden Monaro GTS HQ-HZ – market review 2017-18

With so many buyers forced out of the HK-HG market by soaring prices, we are seeing for the first time HQ-HJ GTS two-doors at more than $100,000.

Cars that were sold new as GTS350s with imported Chevrolet 5.7-litre engines will cost 30-40 per cent more than one with an Aussie V8.

LS versions lack the GTS coupe?s sporty image and that can translates into values some $40,000 lower.

GTS sedans with 5.0-litre engines are topping $60,000 with 4.2-litre cars at around $50,000.

The HZ GTS suffered power restrictions but compensates via its more manageable Radial Tuned Suspension.

These are cheap too with prices $10,000 below an HQ four-door.

The HX LE concocted by Holden to clear remaining two-door body shells is a curiosity and headed for $100,000.

HQ-HZ Monaro/GTS Sedan $46,690 [21]

HQ-HJ Monaro Coupe $102,315 [6]

Monaro HQ-HJ GTS350 $160,000 [1]

HX LE Coupe $87,000 [6]
