2022 Aussie Family & Sports Car Market Review - Holden HK-WB Utility/Van/One-Tonner
Nowhere except Australia would load-carrying derivatives make more money in the collector market than passenger versions, but here is the evidence. HK-HG V8 utes and vans are far less common than sedans or wagons and at least 10 percent more valuable.
The same goes for HQ-HZ vans with 4.2 or 5.0-litre motors which typically cost more than a V8 Premier. Only when we start looking at HQ-HZ utes and One Tonners do the values slip below those of comparable sedans. Lots of 1970s commercial models lose out on authenticity as well, having acquired replacement engines, altered interiors and super sharp paint jobs.
Plenty of standard six-cylinder utes and One Tonners remain available at less than $25,000.
HK-HG V8 Utility $61,495 (3)
HK-HG V8 Van $61,440 (5)
HQ-WB Utiilty Six $23,570 (22)
HQ-HZ Utility V8 $39,095 (25)
One Tonne Six $16,095 (12)
HQ-WB One Tonne V8 $34,395 (22)
HQ-HZ V8 Van $46,280 (16)
