2022 Aussie Family & Sports Car Market Review - Holden Gemini TX-TB
They were Australia’s first Japanese-sourced light car and a lot ended their lives rusty or as race-series fence fodder.
As scarcity grew, Geminis have generated a strong enthusiast following and early coupes (excluding those with costly engine transplants) will now exceed $20,000. Early TX sedans aren’t typically worth $30K, but rarities like the two-door TC Sandpiper which sold in small numbers during 1977 might.
Also up there are TD Series SL/E coupes and the scarce Z/ZZ sedan. Among the more common and affordable Geminis will be two-door wagons which make terrific family runabouts and in good condition cost around $12,000.
Cars set up for race or rally competition occasionally appear and are worth a look for anyone starting out in motorsport.
TX Sedan $30,995 (2)
TX-TD Coupe $14,815 (6)
TC-TD Sedan/Wagon/Van $14,585 (7)
