Affordable Aussie classic: prior restoration with driveline rebuilt, all new interior
Holden’s EJ heralded in a bold new look for the General, with the preceding EK’s rear fins replaced with a flat boot and a lower roofline in keeping up with the more modern Falcons of the time.
But while the EJ’s new look landed the Holden into modernity, the carried-over Grey motors under the bonnet were nowhere near as developmental and offered no real performance improvements – especially in comparison to the XL Falcon’s pursuit motors.
There were various packaging developments throughout the cabin, including door handles, incorporated arm rests of Specials and Premiers, and despite the lower roofline – an improvement to front and rear head room.
They remain a handsome classic who’s simple and reliable nature have morphed into a charm of their own.
This EJ Sedan was restored a few years ago with its driveline fully rebuilt.
The 138 Grey motor is thrumming along reliably and the seller says the car drives beautifully overall.
Inside there’s an all new interior and overall represents a turn-key ready-to-drive Aussie family classic.
The car is based in Western Australia and is listed for $15,000.
