2022 Aussie Family & Sports Car Market Review - Holden Commodore/Calais VN-VE
Two VE SS Commodores knocked down at $27,500 apiece in late May confirmed that the silly money asked by some vendors was just that and $25-30,000 was realistic.
Early VN/VP versions tell different stories and there have been confirmed sales in the $36-40,000 range. Buyers looking for a well-kept Commodore V8 can spend $20-24,000 on VR-Zs of similar quality.
If you want a basic six-cylinder VN that isn’t rusty or trashed then the pickings have become slim, as they have too for the V6 Calais.
V8s of all kinds remain keenly sought and hefty price for ex-Police cars have helped drive the average cost of a V8 Executive way past VN-VP Calais which have the same motor.
VN-VP V6 $9210 (22)
Commodore VN-VP V8 $22,725 (12)
Commodore VR-VT V8 $16,960 (23)
VN-VP Calais V8 $17,830 (17)
VR-VT Calais $12,725 (11)
VTII-Z Calais $19,050 (31)
VE Calais 2006-10 $29,095 (32)
VN-VP SS $40,245 (14)
VR-VT SS $24,590 (28)
VTII-Z SS $22,025 (40)
VE SS 2006-10 $28,020 (39)
