Holden 48 215-EK – 2022 Market Review

2022 Aussie Family & Sports Car Market Review - Holden 48 215-EK

Asking prices for pre-1957 Holdens are up and so are the numbers of available cars.

However, recent auction results showed wavering buyer interest and several ‘no sales.’ FC prices are exceptional and quite likely unsustainable as they exceed by wide margins the money available for other ‘grey motor’ Holdens.

There seems to be no particular reason, either, except perhaps the FC Special’s creative use of chrome side-striping. FB and EKs drew styling inspiration from mid-1950s Chevrolets but nothing else and need engine transplants to deliver reasonable performance. $50,000 for one of these is hard to justify as well.

Modifications compatible with an old Holden’s character, like a later-model engine and four-speed transmission, won’t hurt values too badly.

48-215 $42,465 (14)

FJ $48,100 (33)

FE $39,595 (8)

FC $56,355 (14)

FB $51,930 (7)

EK $51,725 (13)
