Hillman/Humber 1949-1972 – 2021 Market Review

2021 Market Review - Hillman/Humber 1949-1972

Cars sold by the British-based Rootes Group were once popular in Australia but aren’t plentiful anymore. The rear engined Imp is now hard to find and survivors can cost more than the larger models. Those are on the rise as well, with pre-1957 Minx sedans at $5000-7500 and the more modern 1957-67 cars topping $10,000. The late-1960s Hunter remains excellent value, costing half the price of a similar Mark 2 Cortina. The Humber Vogue was an upmarket version of the near-extinct Hillman Super Minx and is normally worth more than a Minx, but probably not $15,000. Humber Snipes from the 1950s-60s are expensive to restore but not especially valuable, so their numbers are diminishing. Very good examples of all Snipe models cost $10-12,000.

Minx 1949-56 $6425 [4]

Minx/Gazelle 1957-67 $10,050 [7]

Hunter $6490 [4] Vogue $8250 [4]

Hawk/Snipe 1947-57 $9740 [4]

Hawk/Snipe 1958-67 $8700 [5]
