Holden 48-215

holden-48-215.jpg

Holden 48-215 It started here 72 years ago. Iconic Holden prices are likely to lift with GM abandoning Australia. The most iconic Holden of all is the 48-215. Launched by Prime Minister Ben Chifley at Holden’s Fisherman’s Bend plant, he spoke with pride about out the post-war car industry, standing alongside a 48-215.

Known as the FX, it ran from 1948 to 1953. Finding one won’t be easy as most have rusted away, but should you, expect to pay from $10,000 for a pile of bits to $75,000 for a fully restored example.  And expect plenty of waves, smiles and toots.
