Inside this month's Unique Cars gearbox
1. Trolley dolly
Whether you’re working at the bench, under your car or getting into one of its nooks and crannies that need welding, trying to lug a heavy cumbersome welder around the shed is tiresome. Hare & Forbes Machinery House has just the answer. It’s the Tri Cart multi-machine welding trolley that is big enough to store up to 3 machines and an E-size bottle, so you can have your MIG, TIG & Plasma cutter all within easy reach. It’s also compact enough to scoot around the shed. The triple-tier trolley has adjustable shelves. Buy in-store or online for $297. machineryhouse.com.au
2. More force
If you are one of the lucky 700 to get your mitts on a 2021 Mach 1, you can make it look tougher with the US front splitter that was part of the ‘handling package’. Our mates at Mustang Motorsport have sourced the genuine Ford Performance factory item that is lower and larger than the one on the Aussie sold cars. It can only be fitted to a Mach 1 though, GT owners need not apply. But there are plenty of goodies for you too. The splitter comes with installation instructions and takes about an hour to fit. Transforming your Mach 1 costs $990. mustangmotorsport.com
3. Vintage hoops
Lucas in this case isn’t the Prince of Darkness. Although the name is the same this is Lucas Tyres and are now imported by Stuckey Tyre Service. Lucas specialises in bias ply tyres ranging in size from 15-inch to 21-inch and even 30X3 1/2 so if you have a Model T Ford tucked up in your shed you can get new hoops for it. In many cases Lucas actually use the original moulds from Olympic and Dunlop tyres once made in Australia. And Stuckey ships tyres to anywhere in Australia. Naturally, prices vary for different sizes. stuckey.com.au
