Unicorn rotary exactly as delivered, with 58,000kms on the car and one day left on the auction
We just came across this stunner on our sunny Friday internet travels.
It’s a completely original, Australian delivered 1974 Mazda RX-3, with a 12A rotary and four-speed manual. It’s for sale on eBay with one day left on the auction (at the time of writing). Current bid stands at AUD$88,100.
It’s a genuine time-warp car, with just 58,000kms on it since new!
It’s rare to see an unmolested early rotary, especially one that’s unrestored in this amazing condition.
The car’s history can be traced back to its original owner, a middle-aged non-smoking lady named Patti.
Patti bought the car from John Palmer Motors in Fyschwick ACT for $3,612 on November 19 1974.

The car was used sparingly, as she was studying at university as a mature aged student at the time. Her children had flown the coup by then already, and her husband had a company car – so the passenger and rear seats have had very sparse use.
After 24 years, and 49,600kms covered – Patti decided to sell the car in October 1998 at the age of 73.
The next owner, named Pete, only owned it for a little over a month, with the seller and current owner purchasing the car over 12 years ago.

The car presents in unbelievable condition; with all original paint, engine, gearbox, differential and interior.
The little RX-3 is finished in Concorde silver with black vinyl trim. It’s in running condition and is currently based in Queensland.
It’s near impossible to find old rotary Mazdas, especially so in this condition.
