Modded road car used to belong to The Enforcer
There’s no doubt a famous name can help sell a car at a premium price, so what’s a 1998 VT SS formerly owned and modified by V8 Supercar star Russell ‘The Enforcer’ Ingall worth?
We were expecting the current owner – who bought it from Ingall – to be asking telephone numbers, but the price is $20,000. That’s still up there for a car of this generation, but you’re buying the history as much as a car.
The story is the car was hand-picked off the line as one of three for local F1 GP duties, and subsequently this one ended up in Ingall’s ownership.
Along the way it received a long list of upgrades, including brakes, suspension, wheels, exahust and ECU tune. The end result was a car that was a little lower than stock, apparently handled far better than ex-factory, and had a little more grunt.
It comes with some paperwork to authenticate its history and currently has under 160,000km on the odo.
Specs include the 5.0lt V8 and five-speed manual, and the car has been with its current Vic owner since late 1999. Motor magazine featured the machine whern Ingall owned it.
