These are the US-made Fords that Australia didn’t see as new cars.

Most are recent imports and often have been left in original LHD form.

1962-65 ‘Compact’ Fairlanes were built here and apart from scarce two-doors are always RHD.

The 1966-70 Fairlane GTs were imports, often come with bigger engines than the local cars and cost only $10,000 more.

A couple of scarce versions priced at $65-70,000 affected the Torino value average however 5.8-litre GTs can still be found for less than $40,000.

A rare Talledega will probably need to come from the USA where they can make A$150,000.

For practicality at sensible prices consider a V8 Ranchero pickup at $25,000.

Falcon Sprint Hardtop $33,345 [9]

Fairlane Compact 1962-65 $27,485 [6]

Fairlane GT 1966-70 $33,960 [5]

Torino 1968-73 $45,875 [4]

Ranchero 1966-73 $23,550 [10]
