2021 Market Review - Ford Thunderbird 1955-1978
‘Fun, Fun, Fun’ blaring through your radio speakers and images of an elusive ‘Baby Bird’ in American Graffiti have all helped maintain T-Bird imagery and keep these quite common cars selling in droves.
Australia during the 1950s didn’t import many of the original two-seaters, but since then we have become home to lots and some sell for over $80,000. More practical if you have a family are five-seat 1958-66 cars which can be found as a hardtop, convertible or even with a canopy to create the impression of a two-seat Roadster.

Most Hardtops from the 1960s still cost less than $45,000, with outstanding open-top ‘Birds at over $100,000. Larger 1967-74 models are beginning to build a market presence but remain affordable.
