Ford’s XA-XC hardtop series has swung from relatively unloved a decade ago, to being in huge demand. That situation heated up noticably with the shutdown of local industry some four-or-so years ago.
And it’s had an inevitable effect on prices.
This 1973 XA Superbird has had some substantial restoration work done on it over time, though there is room for further improvement.
For the next owner, there’s the interesting option of leaving the current 351 V8 powerplant in place, or refreshing and reinstalling the original 302 that also comes with the car.
In any case, there’s no missing the wild 1970s graphics!
Shannons has this one coming up in its Spring auction, which runs August 31 to September 7. It has listed a guiding range of $140-160,000.
