Ford Galaxie/Sunliner/Fairlane 1957-1973 – 2021 Market Review

2021 Market Review - Ford Galaxie/Sunliner/Fairlane 1957-1973

Aussie-built ‘Tank’ Fairlanes continue to attract interest and prices are up by 25 percent on 2019 levels. That brings them closer to the fully imported 1950s US Fairlanes that occasionally pop up, but still well short of the $70,000 being spent on Sunliner convertibles or complex Skyliner hardtops.

Australia replaced its big Fairlanes with enormous Galaxies from 1962, however we didn’t see the 7.0-litre XL two-doors that dominated Nascar and even won the British Touring Car title. Those today can cost $90,000. Basic four-door cars from the 1960s-70s cost considerably less, with very good 1968-72 models at around $30,000 and fully imported two-door Hardtops and convertibles only slightly more expensive.
