Though a fair number of Falcon GTs changed hands over the year, XR owners proved very reluctant to let go.
Ford Falcon XR-XY GT
In the context of other 2017 values, the money being sought by GT Falcon owners seems pretty realistic.
Yes there has been the odd car advertised at well beyond the average but when documented sales of XT-XY GTs are considered (top confirmed price for an XY was $180,000) the prospects for a soft landing should the market come unglued are strong.
XWs and lower-quality XYs advertised in the $100-125K price bracket offer decent value and they can still be used regularly without concern.
So too South African repat Fairmont 351s with GT features that are cheaper than some XY replicas.
XR GT owners seem to be holding tight to their 50 year-old antiques but the money being sought for XT versions has climbed.
XR GT $101,495[2]
XT GT $74,400 [5]
XW GT $129,665 [6]
XY GT $147,860 [11]
XY GT Fairmont $62,250 [4]
XY GT Replica $74,465 [14]
