2022 Aussie Family & Sports Car Market Review - 2022 Aussie Family & Sports Car Market Review
Is it the Phase III factor or do people just prefer the shape of XW/XY Falcons to other models? Whatever the reason, the money available for 1969-72 Falcons and Fairmonts, especially V8s, has reached exceptional levels and may not yet have peaked.
XW and XY versions with six-cylinder engines show some buyer preference for the later car, but XY V8 values have become extreme. While leaving GT replicas for the Muscle Car Guide to review, we did track XY Falcons and Fairmonts with factory 351s and found several at prices which confirm that $150,000 is no longer excessive for exceptional cars.
351 V8 utilities and vans are star performers as well and headed for $100,000.
XW-XY Falcon $44,850 (14)
XW V8 $55,625 (4)
XY V8 $90,415 (6)
XW-XY Fairmont 6 $62,335 (9)
XW Fairmont V8 $98,215 (7)
XY Fairmont V8 $137,795 (3)
XY Fairmont 351 $166,775 (5)
XW-XY V8 Ute $87,800 (5)
XW/XY V8 Van $90,415 (6)
