2022 Aussie Family & Sports Car Market Review - Ford Falcon/Fairmont EA-AU
Once upon a time, not very long ago, it was possible to buy a 1990s XR6 Falcon in good condition for less than $10,000.
Suddenly, lots of people recognised what value these were and how scarce good examples were becoming. Then the available cars were snapped up and the ones that replaced them came at twice the price.
Cheapest of the XRs at around $20,000 are scarce EB versions, with ED wagons rare as well. Having missed XR6 boat, you might go hunting for an excellent Fairmont; EB-ELs are more desirable and worth a little more than the troubled EA. ED-ELs have been advertised at up to $15,000, however it is possible to find cars in excellent condition with history below $10,000.
