2022 Family & Sports Car Market Review - Ford Cortina TC-TF/Escort 2.0 Litre
These designs came to us via Ford UK or Europe but then acquired extra power and/or features to suit the Australian market.
Early six-cylinder (TC-TD Series) Cortinas were scarce in the recent market and prices weren’t representative.
Now, TE-TF versions which for a long time didn’t inspire enthusiast owners have rushed in to fill the void and it is certainly possible to pay $25,000 for a Ghia 6 in excellent order.
Local 2.0-litre-engined Escorts are popular and pricey as well, with vans and GL sedans surging past $20,000 and preserved examples of the Ghia 2.0 reaching $30,000. The UK didn’t offer RS2000s as a four-door but Australia did and survivors today can top $50,000.
