Back in 2009, we put together a list of 13 of our favourite one-offs that had been featured in Unique Cars – or advertised for sale (not counting modified cars or ‘specials’). Topping the list was the Ferrari 750 Monza

Australia’s only 750 Monza was the cover car of our Ferrari 60th Anniversary special issue (#277).

Shot under lights in a special display area at the Classic Adelaide, Ferrari’s first, and last, four-cylinder sports car is a stark contrast to the better-known V8 and V12 models from the Maranello stable.

Ferrari’s four-cylinder sports cars, including the lightweight, aluminium-bodied 750, were built in limited numbers in the early-‘50s to compete in the World Sportscar Championship… and succeeded in winning the inaugural title.

Australia’s 750 is an early, ex-factory team car that is believed to have been raced by Mike Hawthorn and Phil Hill, amongst others, recording several important victories.
