Top 25 most valuable cars
2019 was a relatively quiet year for our ‘most valuable’ list, but there were still a couple of breath-taking results.
We all know that people can spend eye-popping amounts of it on collectible cars, but just how far are they prepared to go? Let’s take a look at the numbers…
Ferraris easily dominate the list, filling up over half of the rankings, however the market overall has been quiet in the year since we last looked at this list – there are only two new entries! In top spot is the recent sale by Volkswagen of a 1907 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost – the first ever made - for a whopping US $75 million (AU $110.3 million).
Another record-setter for this year was the 1994 McLaren F1 LM-Specification, which went for a colossal US $19,805,000 (AU $29 million), the highest number ever publicly paid for a McLaren.
It seems the market has settled down a little from 2018, when the number of cars making up our list was doubled from this year.
