Italian Auto Icons to pay tribute to 1956 Maserati 250F and Reg Hunt at this weekend's display

Italian Auto Icons
Sunday 3 March
10:00am - 3:00pm
Lygon Street, Carlton, Vic

At this year's Italian Auto Icons display, the event organisers are putting on a special feature of a replica 1956 Maserati 250 F - which dominated in podium awards at the 1956 Australian Grand Prix held at Melbourne's Albert Park Race track.

There were five 250 F Maseratis entered in the 1956 race, with four cars finishing in the top five placings. Among those top four were race winner Stirling Moss and Reg Hunt, finishing in 4th position. Reg established a career as a competitive and successful racing driver during the 1950s in Australia where his 250 F won many races.

He retired from racing Maseratis in the late 1950's to establish Reg Hunt Motors in Melbourne where his General Motors/Holden dealership became Australia's largest Holden dealer outlet.

Reg will be a special guest at the event on Sunday 3 March, where at 12:45pm a presentation will be made to recognise his contiribution to Maserati, Australian car racing and to the Australian Automotive Industry.
