Clubs: Italian Auto Icons Display
Melbourne's "Little Italy", Lygon Street, will come alive with beautiful cars, coffee, food and music for an Italian car enthusiast’s dream day
Italian Auto Icons Display
A section of Melbourne's Lygon Street in Carlton, between Elgin and Faraday Street, will be closed off on Sunday, February 16 for the 'Italian Auto Icons Collection’. In a display of old meets new, six Melbourne Italian car clubs will feature a selection of rare, classic, vintage and current cars which highlight the different model series over time from Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Ferrari, Lancia, Maserati and Lamborghini. Zagame automotive will also showcase one new model for each of the five Italian car brands it distributes.
This year also marks a milestone for Maserati, celebrating its 100th anniversary. One of the featured cars on display will be a rare 1965 right-hand-drive Mistral Spyder convertible - one of only two RHD models made. The Mistral was the last car to be produced with Maserati's legendary six-cylinder engine which was derived from its famous 250F Grand Prix car.
Take the family and enjoy the vibe of "Little Italy" with live jazz music, coffee, a bite to eat and the chance to get up close and personal with some Italian treasures. There will also be special free prize draws on the day.
The Italian Auto Icons Collection display is brought together by Tiamo Carlton, Forza Italia, Lygon Court and Brunetti Carlton.
