2013 RACV Motorclassica - Valentino Balboni
Legendary test driver Valentino Balboni joins the judging panel for concours event
2013 RACV Motorclassica - Valentino Balboni
Melbourne's RACV Motorclassica - to be held on 25-27 October at the Exhibition Building - has taken another step towards international stardom by securing Valentino Balboni as a guest judge for this year's Australian International Concours d'Elegance event.
Balboni is most famous for his wheelwork, having been a key development driver for Lamborghini since the late 1960s. "We will be delighted to welcome Valentino to Motorclassica this year. It is a great honour, and as a prominent citizen of the collector car community he will no doubt make a valuable contribution to our judging panel," said Mathers of Balboni’s appointment.
"Of course, just as exciting for us is an over-subscribed entry for the concours, enabling us to pick the 'best of the best' for judging, and it also shows just how far our Motorclassica event has come in very little time," he continued.
Entries expected to shine include an 1891 Panhard et Levassor, said to be the oldest car outside of Europe, an ex-Briggs Cunningham Aston Martin DB2 and a Bugatti Type 57.
Melbourne's RACV Motorclassica will be held on 25-27 October at the Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton. More than 450 cars and motorcycles will be on display in and around the building, including the adjacent 'Club Sandwich' club displays.
