Chryslers on the Murray

The 22nd annual Chryslers on the Murray, hosted by the Albury Wodonga Chrysler Club, was held over the weekend of 15-16 March.

Over 600 entrants from around the country participated across the weekend, which included a wide array of activities. From cruises to a show and shine via a dyno power run, all walks of Chrysler Group life were welcomed – even AMC was represented.

As an indication of the event’s significance to the region, the mayor of Wodonga, Cr Rodney Wangman, was present and gave his ‘Mayor’s Choice’ award to the 1962 Valiant S Series sedan belonging to Matt Boudreau.

Top 5 awards for American and Australian Mopars were also given, the 1970 Plymouth Barracuda Hardtop of Sergio Ciccotelli and Wayne Spiers’ 1971 Valiant Charger R/T E38 highlights in the field.

Over on the dyno Mark Ross’ VE sedan, powered by a turbocharged 440ci big-block, made 735.7hp to take out overall horsepower honours.

Planning has already commenced for the 2015 edition, which will be held from 13-15 March.
