Canberra will again host ACT's premier display of Italian automobiles on the picturesque lawns of Old Parliament House this Sunday, March 30.

Auto Italia is an annual one-day event presented by the Italian Cars Association (ICA) which showcases vehicles ranging from the pristine to daily drivers. With hundreds of beautiful cars, motorbikes and scooters on display, the ICA says, "every vehicle has a story and every owner likes to tell it."

This year Maserati celebrates its centenary and will be the main featured marque for the display, sharing the limelight with Fiat and Alfa Romeo. As 2014 also marks the 50th anniversary for the Maserati Mistral model – the successor to the iconic 3500 GT, the Mistral will be represented by a pristine LHD Spyder from Victoria.

Fiat’s featured models will be from the 850 family - celebrating 50 years, and Alfa Romeo will be featuring Zagato-bodied models including the TZ (marking 50 years in 2014), SZ ES-30 (25 years) and the Junior Z among others.

As well as the static display of hundreds of cars and motorcycles expected on the day - which also includes Lamborghini, Ferrari, Lancia, Ducati and Vespa, there will be plenty of fine Italian food vendors and industry related stalls to satisfy the enthusiasts.

Trophies will be awarded in the afternoon for best presented exhibits in each category with presentations commencing at 1.30pm for motorcycles, followed by 1.45pm for scooters and 2.00pm for cars.

Auto Italia Canberra commences at 10am this Sunday, 20 March until 3pm. For more information, visit the website: www.autoitaliacanberra.com
