The Charger name brings in the bucks - no matter what side of the Pacific it comes from.

Local Chrysler dealers weren’t as keen as Holden or Ford outlets to import and convert US product so Australia doesn’t have a lot of 1960s US Dodges.

The ones we see courtesy of recent import activity are generally in good condition with lots of factory options and pretty sensible pricing.

One R/T Charger did climb well into six-digit territory however for that money you should expect a Hemi or 440 ‘Six Pack’ engine.

Though they are expensive these are the Chargers to grab. If you can’t manage $120,000 then a single-carb 383 or 440 car will cost half that money.

Scarce R/T Coronets or a 1970s Super Bee come with big-block engines and extroverted presentation and cost $55-65,000 in excellent LHD condition.

Polara/Monaco 1964-72 $25,560 [5]

Coronet RT/Superbee 1967-72 $70,655 [5]

Charger 1966-73 $46,635 [4]

Charger R/T 1968-71 $97,625 [4]
