This 1959 Triumph TR3A is an original UK right hand drive sold project that underwent a full nut-and-bolt restoration for a customer.

The car was stripped to a shell and the body removed from the chassis. The chassis has been blasted, zinc primed and painted in Chassis Gloss Black. It was then rebuilt to the customers specifications, which include uprated shock absorbers and coil springs, a front anti-roll bar, Triumph TR6 front brake calipers, EBC vented brake discs and green stuff pads, as well as braided flexi hoses and stainless steel backing plates. The underneath of the body was taken back to bare metal before being coated in Gravitex Stone Chip including under the arches, inside the wings, floor panels etc. The shell was then taken back to bare metal, coated in Jenolite (rust eater), etch primed, primed and fully resprayed.

The newly painted body has been fitted to the chassis and has had the panels re-fitted with new fitting kits. The car has had all new copper brake / clutch pipes fitted, with the upgrade of servo assisted brakes. The engine was stripped down to the bare block before having a full rebuild, including new 86mm pistons and liners, camshaft, oil pump, uprated water pump & pulley, unleaded head conversion, uprated rear crank shaft oil seal etc. The customer has also requested a sports stainless steel exhaust system, which has been dry fitted to the engine.

Sitting on new engine mounts, the fully rebuilt engine has been fitted in to the car. The original overdrive gearbox has had a complete overhaul and has been fitted with a new complete clutch. Before the interior is fitted, the customer requested Silent Coat sound proofing to be applied to various panels to help dampen any potential vibrations, including boot floor, floor panels, rear inner arches and the tunnel.

In the engine bay, various upgrades were again requested by the customer. An up-rated aluminium radiator, silicone hose kit, alternator conversion, air horns, oil cooler with thermostat, up-rated wiper motor and an electric washers and glass bottle assembly have all been fitted. Due to the addition of various electrics over the course of the restoration, we are installing a hidden fuse and relay box in the engine bay for extra safety. The carburetors have had a complete overhaul and have been fitted in place with a heat shield protecting them from the exhaust manifold. A similar heat shield has also been fitted over the alternator.

With the floor panels and tunnel coated in sound proofing, all new navy wool carpet has been glued down in place. To match the rest of the interior, the customer has requested heated leather sports seats with lumber adjustment. These have been fitted with a customized frame, allowing us to use the original floor panel holes combined with new standard seat runners / adjusters. Behind the rear seat board, as an extra safety feature, a firewall has been fixed in place as requested by the customer.

The original windscreen has been stripped down to a bare frame and re-chromed (including original stanchions and hard top fixings). It has then been rebuilt with all new seals, gaskets, screws, bolts and a green tinted windscreen glass. Uprated wiper arms and blades have then been fitted.

Original new old stock front spot lamps have been fitted to a stainless steel front bumper, with a Lucas rear fog lamp fitted to a rear over rider. With the car now sat on new 72 spoke chrome wire wheels and tyres, the doors were fitted and panel gaps set on first adjustment. The car was left on its wheels for a few weeks to allow the panel gaps to settle before further adjustment. Also fitted is a new roll over bar, as well as a 3 point inertia seat belt set up.

The original factory hardtop was taken back to bare metal, primed and painted in a complimenting shade of navy blue. This has been fitted with all new catches around the cockpit and windscreen. The weather gear is all new navy blue mohair.

The car was substantially test driven around the local area to iron out any creases before delivery to the customer in Birmingham.

We currently have a selection of 3x Triumph TR3A's for sale, all of which are currently in the painted or primer stage, and can be restored to any specification you would like.

- Each car will have a complete nut and bolt restoration carried out. The vehicles will have the body taken off the chassis, taken back to bare metal, primed and then fully resprayed to an excellent standard (including underneath and in the arches) to the colour of your choice.

- The chassis will be stripped down, sand blasted and then painted in gloss black. The suspension will have a complete overhaul with all new polybushes, all braking components and a steering rack conversion.

- The engine will have a complete rebuild including new pistons, liners, camshaft, oil pump, crank regrind, aswell as an unleaded head conversion. It will have a narrow belt conversion carried out as well as

- All interior, weather gear and chrome, as well as various other parts (fuel and water systems, ignition system etc) will all also be new.

- The cars will be fitted with new splined hubs and spoke wire wheels. The cars that are currently LHD will be converted to RHD (unless otherwise stated). All of our restoration projects have an extensive photographic history, showing each stage of development,
