In keeping with this push for improvement, Porsche engineers upgraded the 997 series 2 with a complete revamp to the direct fuel injection 3.6-litre flat-6 upping the power to 254kW (345 bhp) and 390 Nm of torque.
The Carrera also received some exterior changes with a revised front bumper, larger air intakes, larger side mirrors, daytime LED running lights and a LED brake light treatment. It also got wider rear tyres, a revised suspension system, a touch screen-operated navigation system, a dedicated iPod interface and ventilated seats.
But all this paled in comparison with the fitment of the Doppelkupplungsgetriebe. Dubbed PDK for short, the company's revolutionary new dual-clutch 7 speed transmission transformed the 911, making the automatic version faster than the manual for the first time in Porsche history.
As with most things Porsche, this slick bit of tech came straight from the race track. First seen on their 956 race car in 1983, the PDK transmission delivers shifts in a fraction of a heartbeat.
In beautiful condition throughout, this 2009 911 997 Series 2 Porsche Carrera features the all matching numbers 3.6 Litre direct fuel injection flat 6 and PDK seven speed automatic gearbox.
