Motor 3.6 litre Flathead 6 100 hp, 217.8 cu. in. L-head inline 6-cylinder engine, 3-speed manual transmission, independent front suspension, live Plymouth motored into 1953 with an unbroken 25-year record as the number 3 U.S. automaker; however, a looming price war between Ford and Chevrolet would erode sales in 1954. In a classic case of evolution rather than revolution, Plymouth carefully refined its model line both aesthetically and mechanically, in preparation for the fully restyled 1955 line-up. The 1953 would be the Final Year for the Cranbrook, despite record sales. The six-cylinder engine was not far in horsepower from the Chevrolet or ford v-8 engines but provided more economy at the gas pump. The standard Plymouth engine remained the reliable 217 cubic-inch, six-cylinder engine, while the standard three-speed manual transmission was upgraded for quieter operation. Improvements included splay-mounted rear leaf springs; A new one-piece windshield and a revised grille were added, along with an expanded range of exterior colours, Wide whitewall tires, and wire wheels complement the exterior. The largely original engine, and is mated to a three-speed manual transmission. The Car has been converted to 12-volt for reliability. The original, unrestored undercarriage is in good condition, displaying reasonable road use. This rare automobile awaits the opportunity to bring joy to its next owner. This is considered a great show car or fun cruiser and a very Rare and hard to find in this condition Hagerty has appraised this Car at being between good and excellent condition I can email a lot more photos to see.
