The Jaguar C-Type, officially known as the Jaguar XK120-C, was based on the Jaguar XK120. The XK120, introduced in 1948, was celebrated for its performance and elegant design. The "C" in C-Type stands for "Competition," indicating its racing purpose.
The C-Type utilized the XK120's engine and mechanical components but featured a lightweight tubular frame and an aerodynamic body designed for competitive racing. This model achieved significant success in motorsport, including victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1951 and 1953.
