1955 FORD THUNDERBIRD

Designed to be at the forefront of sports car motoring in the mid-1950s, the first model Ford Thunderbird will always be celebrated for its beautiful and sleek design.

This example features modern mechanicals and four wheel Disc braking, for effortless driving enjoyment.

A rare conversion to Right-Hand Drive is fully compliant with VASS approval and is currently club registered.



MECHANICALS

This Thunderbird has been upgraded with a modern Ford 302ci Windsor V8, delivering a reliable and spirited driving experience with classic character.

Paired with a smooth-shifting Ford C4 automatic transmission, the drivetrain offers effortless cruising and responsive performance when called upon.

Power is transferred via an upgraded Borg Warner limited-slip differential, complemented by the addition of a rear sway bar to enhance road handling and cornering stability.

Stopping power has also been significantly improved thanks to a power-assisted four-wheel disc brake system, offering a substantial upgrade over the factory drum setup.

A set of side-exit exhausts complete the package, delivering a nod to classic 1950s race car styling with a suitably aggressive tone.



EXTERIOR

The sculptured panels present straight, solid and corrosion-free. Presented in mid Red paint with only very minor imperfections visible upon close inspection.

The bumpers have been painted in matte black, adding to the cars retro racer aesthetic and giving it a more purposeful edge.



INTERIOR

The all-black interior is clean and functional, highlighted by a Moto-Lita steering wheel that adds a subtle touch of sporting flair.

While the original speedometer is currently inoperative and no soft top is included in the sale, the cabin remains a character-filled space that maintains its authentic feel and provides a great base for further enhancement.
