Rare, pre sales production model 19641/2, d code, Ford Mustang 289 V8 4 barrel carburetor, auto, fully optioned Californian car with zero rust, original panels, chassis, rails and shut lines, finished in Vintage Burgundy with black interior, AC Rally PAC centre console, power steering and brakes, Magnum wheels.

The Mustang was shipped to California and purchased new from a San Jose Ford dealership in 1964 by a lady for her 65th birthday. Her husband was a drag racer and that is why they specified the performance option. She later relocated and retired to Northern California near Santa Rosa and the car was in her ownership for the next 25 years. The car was then purchased by the guy who serviced the Mustang, also a car racer and was stored in his facility for his daughter. It was later sold on Ebay to a new owner located back east in Chicago, Illinois and after two years was sold on to a classic car dealer in Connecticut, New England, where i purchased the Mustang in July 2012. The Mustang continued its journey eastwards and was shipped to the port of Liverpool, UK.

On 31st of March 2014 a special 50th birthday celebration complete with cake and champagne was held for the Mustang in the Peak District Derbyshire, UK.

The next year in January 2015,the Mustang was selected by James May of 'Top Gear' to feature in his curated exhibition held at the London Classic Car Show Excel Centre, as one of 13 cars that forever changed the world of motoring.

The Mustang has always been in dry storage with zero rust and the underside as factory finish is painted in flat back Hammerite not underseal. All the body panels are original and straight with factory finish shut lines. The last Ministry of Transport test MoT'd the Mustang which passed with no advisories.

The Mustang won 'Best American in Show' at Capesthorne Hall Classic Car Event 2016.
