Description
For sale is a right hand drive converted 1970 Mustang Convertible in Cinnamon Poly with White trim. Running the factory 302 CID Windsor 2BBL V8 and 3 speed auto. For sale from Taree, NSW.
The Ford Mustang. Since 1964, Ford's longest running nameplate in continuous production. Now in its 61st year and still one of the best selling Ford models globally. Longer and more aggressive, the 1970 Ford Mustang was available in multiple iterations including Coupe, Fastback and Convertible body styles and various engine and transmission combinations.
For sale is a great entry level survivor condition 1970 Ford Mustang Convertible presented in Cinnamon Poly with the original White interior and running the factory F code 302 ci Windsor V8 and 3 speed C-4 auto combo. Imported to Australia over 30 years ago, the Mustang was converted to right hand drive by Sydney based Mustang specialist Ray Alberry in 1997. It has been in the care of the current owner since 1993 and is fully registered in NSW and comes with a 2018 NSW engineering certificate.
The engineering documentation covers the fitment of a period correct right hand drive Ford Fairlane steering box, idler arm, drag link and ram. The Mustang is also fitted with Ford Fairlane front disc brakes and drums on the rear. The Mustang is also fitted with power steering and the engineering certification also covers the fitment of the seat belts.
In unrestored condition, the Mustang features mostly original Cinnamon Poly paint. This is a good solid car with minimal surface rust and no damage. The convertible top is electric and works well and is in good condition. The interior is original and in average condition. Being white in colour it is showing some wear but would come up well with a good detail. The chrome and glass is in original condition with working gauges, aftermarket radio and repro steering wheel.
Mechanically, the 302 Windsor was reconditioned in 1997. Since the rebuild the owner has maintained the car regularly. The Mustang is running a 4bbl QF2 Quickfuel Technologies carby that has recently been rebuilt, factory exhaust manifolds and new dual exhaust system. The Mustang runs and drives perfectly and is extremely reliable and powerful.
The Mustang has been converted to run front disc brakes with rear drums. Suspension has fully reconditioned with heavy duty springs fitted. The Mustang is fitted with engine immobiliser, locking fuel cap and internal bonnet locking latch.
Riding on new Magnum 500 wheels and new 225/60R15s B F Goodrich TA radials all round.
