1997 FORD FALCON XR6 EL for sale $18,300

A really nice, clean and genuine example of a Falcon at its peak of popularity. You would have been king of the street back in the day bringing home a XR series Falcon, especially this one finished in Navy Blue with contrasting red bumper and side strips.

Optioned with genuine 16 Sharkfin alloys, and fitted with BRAND NEW Bridgestone Potenza RE003 performance tyres, this combo still really grabs attention today.

The matching numbers Tickford 4.0 inline six still feels mighty, building on the standard OHC sixs plentiful torque with a more free-revving character. The 4 speed auto shifts quickly and cleanly, with no delays when going between D and R. No oil or fluid leaks underneath the car at all. No clunks, creaks or rattles from the car, it really does drive so well. Air con runs nice and cold, all other electrics works like they should.

The body looks way better than youd expect for what has been a daily driven car until recently. Of course there have been some chips, scuffs and touchups over its 25 years but is absolutely genuine. One tiny (5c piece sized) pint lift on the roof. All panels are original and have the factory Ford VIN labels attached - pretty amazing after 25 years!. It even still has the original factory Pilkington widnsreeen fitted.

Never been smoked in, interior close to perfect except for the drivers carpet being a bit tired, all original except for a period Sony CD player. The chrome Fairmont Ghia interior handles (which lift the look and feel of the interior) can easily be swapped with the original grey interior door handles which will be included with the sale.

Car had Victorian rego current until last August, been pretty much in storage in my garage since then. The only thing I know it needs for rego is a new rear muffler. I really wanted to keep this but a change in circumstances mean it's time for this to find a new home.
