Now for sale is a rare opportunity to purchase a December 1971 XY Falcon GS factory optioned with the 351 K code Cleveland V8, 4 speed Top Loader gearbox, Dual Exhaust System and 9" LSD. Certainly one of the best XY GSs we have seen and this one comes complete with the dealer order form and log books. For sale from Adelaide, SA.

Ordered new from Alan Coffey Ford in Dandenong, Victoria and delivered on the 26th of January, 1972 the original owner of this XY ticked the option boxes on the Ford order form starting with the base Falcon 500 at $2,868 and adding $1,041 worth of options taking the final tally to $4,093. Options selected include the ultra desirable K Code 351 2V Cleveland motor, GS Rallye Pack, Dual exhaust system, dual styled exterior mirrors with remote on the drivers side and AM Superfringe radio.

One of 33,028 Falcon 500s built this XY is one of 669 with the 351 Cleveland engine, one of 490 with the Top Loader 4 speed gearbox and one of only 3 with the exact options fitted. Now in the care of only its SECOND owner, this XY was subject of a professional back to bare metal restoration in 2020, this GS presents in immaculate condition throughout with perfect exterior Yellow Ochre paint with original paint in the engine bay, boot and door jambs. The XY GS features the excellent original chrome bumper bars, stainless and excellent original glass except for the front windscreen. The interior has been retrimmed with Black vinyl with original door cards, original armrests and crash pad, original GS steering wheel and hood lining with new carpets fitted. The dash features all the original factory GS 140 MPH speedo and 8,000 RPM tacho framed by the original working rim blow GS steering wheel. The whole package really is superb. And wait until you sit in the Falcon, hit the key and hear that dual exhaust come to life. You'll feel the cares of the world just wash away.

Slip the Top Loader gearbox into first, release the clutch and feel the power of the big Cleveland under your right foot. The K-codes 250bhp on tap running is more than enough to excite the senses. And the engine was subject to a full rebuild with sports cam. The XY features a factory water pump, Email alternator, fan shroud and is currently running a 4BBL carby and manifold with the original cast iron manifold and 2BBL Autolite carby supplied with the car.

The GS comes complete with the original owners log book and the original Alan Coffey Ford new car order form making this one very rare and complete XY Falcon. The GS is fitted with factory Hella driving lights and the car is fitted with the original boot mat, spare wheel and tools.

Brakes, suspension, and fuel system etc have all been reconditioned. And the underside of the GS presents in unrestored yet impressively original condition. The car still retains the original factory diff tag as well as the original shock absorbers, and riveted upper and lower ball joints. There are no reproduction parts on this XY.

This is an amazing XY GS that has survived without being transformed into just another GT or GTHO replica. A genuine Show Stopper, documented with log books and a Ford letter of Verification.
