1961 Ford F100 unibody longbed. Bought out of Fresno California. 292 Y block V8 with three speed manual on the column. Comes with import paperwork.

This is an extremely original rust-free F100 that hasnt been modified and still wears 90% of its original paint. Theres nothing quite like buying a car with original paint....

Body
As mentioned, the body has around 90% original Monte Carlo Red and Corinthian White paint (RHF guard was resprayed decades ago) and is rust free except for one very small area around the RHS tailgate hinge. The rest is rust free, including the common areas that rust out on these models, ie the cab steps, the tailgate, the bonnet, and the bed. They are all 100% rust free. The bed is in great shape and doesnt have many dings at all - it wouldnt take alot of work to get it back to factory original condition...but youre not going to do that...

The rest of the body shows some bumps and bruises (see pics for condition) which all add to the patina of a vehicle like this. All the factory weld markings are present in the panels showing its originality. The RH sill and the LH door had primer patches but no serious damage. These have since been professionally painted over and blended to the original paint.

Interior
Yep, theyre pretty basic! The original seat has been professionally repadded and retrimmed in a black vinyl and fabric cover. The original black rubber floormat is present - it has the usual heel wear, but is in good overall condition. It also comes with a brand new fitted red carpet from LMC in the US that I never installed because the rubber mat was far better than I expected.

While it is rare enough to find a unibody truck in such good condition, it is even rarer to find one with a good headliner. Sure, this one doesnt have one fitted :), however I have a brand new one that comes with the truck. Given its size, and that it is made of a board material, this is not something youd be wanting to import from the US....

The dash metal and original paint is all in great shape, with no holes cut for speakers or an aftermarket radio.

All lights, indicators work. The original radio is present, but not working. The horn needs to be replaced, but all the wiring, contacts etc are good.

Wheels & Tyres
The wheels are original F100 wheels from around 1965 and have been powdercoated. The wheels are fitted with almost new Firestone cross-ply tyres in the factory original size. These tyres have approximately 1,000 miles on them and were very expensive. No need for power steering when youre rolling on cross-ply tyres!

Mechanicals
The truck is mechanically sorted - starts, stops, steers as it should. It has been driven to Phillip Island and on other long drives a number of times without issue. I would have no qualms about it being driven interstate.
What has been recently fixed or replaced on the motor:
Timing chain replaced
New freeze plugs
New generator
New voltage regulator
New radiator and hoses
New thermostat and housing
Top end oil channels cleaned and cleared
New oil pressure sensor
New water temperature sensor
New fuel pump
Fuel tank cleaned
New ignition tumbler with two original keys

Parts
It comes with a bunch of parts including new rubbers for the front and rear screens plus new door seals, window channels etc, and the previously mentioned new headliner.

Theres also a bed mounted toolbox that comes with it. It shows a patina consistent with the rest of the truck, and is pretty cool and practical. I think theres a gun rack to mount in the cab in there somewhere, if thats your bag.

Summary
They dont come along often in this condition and Ford only made the unibody model for three years (1961-63) and with Fords claimed car styling for a truck, it is far more unique than the 64 to 66 models. The unibody model is well sought after in the US and this one gets plenty of comments when it gets driven - possibly because of what it is, possibly because of how it looks, and/or possibly because it sounds like war when it takes off! This is a very regretful sale, but its time to move it along ....so I can add it to the list of cars Ive regretted selling!
