Mechanically sound (should be good for many years).
With new electronic ignition, plugs and leads it starts and runs as good as new. Strong acceleration, smooth gear changes, good stopping and a smooth ride.
Interior in good to excellent condition. Red leather and upholstery seats with timber dash and trim.
Body and paint in good to excellent condition. Repainted white (previously used as a wedding car). Some small rust bubbles in rear doors (not structural as it has a separate chassis).
The Daimler Majestic luxury four door saloon was launched in July 1958. Trimmed in a luxurious manner that befitted former holders of the Royal Warrant, the Majestic remained in production until 1962.
It is powered by a 3794cc OHV straight-six engine allied to a three-speed Borg Warner automatic transmission. Equipped with coil-sprung independent front suspension and a well located 'live' rear axle the Daimler boasted a 100mph top speed.
The power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes were a first for a British production car without any claim to a sportscar nature. It was mechanically up-to-date for its time and is a swift and comfortable cruiser that can still cut it in the 21st century.
