EXTERIOR
This striking E30 has been fully restored to an excellent standard, benefiting from multiple welcome upgrades along the way. The project began with the bodyshell being totally stripped and prepped for paint. The whole car, including the engine bay and entire underside, was then professionally painted in the original colour of Granite Silver Metallic (237). A complete M Tech 2 bodykit was then fitted, with all clips and fixings sourced from BMW. The exterior now presents with an exemplary Sport finish.

INTERIOR
The E30 Sport seats are upholstered in smart black leather, which appears in beautiful condition throughout. The deep bolsters remain in fantastic order with only the usual surface creases to note. There are no rips or scuffs to speak of, and the leather remains supple having never been connolised. The outstanding interior also boasts the desirable rear head restraint option as well as an original set of E30 floor mats in the foot-wells. The classic Sport finish deviates only with the addition of a later-style six-speed gear knob. Furthermore, the rear luggage area is equipped with all the correct tools, jack, and an original 15-inch BBS spare wheel hidden below the unmarked carpet.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Under the bonnet you'll find the 2.8-litre M52 straight-six from an E36 328i Sport. With this car the owner's objective was to create an original looking 3-Series but with the speed and reliability of a more modern example, suitable for everyday use. The engine was completely rebuilt in 2014 over a four-month period and now boasts an enlarged throttle body, lighter flywheel, and ECU re-map. A recent rolling road session showed a healthy 215hp on tap. To ensure the engine remains cool a large aluminium radiator was also fitted with an automatic 16-inch fan. The car was most recently serviced in March this year at 108,875 miles.

Mated to the engine is a six-speed manual gearbox. To make the most of the six cogs a slightly taller differential has been fitted. The car drives beautifully and pulls extremely well, providing plenty of enjoyment. On the motorway at the legal limit, sixth gear is about 1,800rpm, which is smooth, quiet, and comfortable. Open her up on the twisty roads and the BMW Sport quick steering rack and full stainless exhaust ensures the perfect feel with just the right soundtrack.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Filling the E30's arches are a set of desirable 16-inch Hartge rims, which are free from any curb marking. They are shod in a set of Hankook tyres, each with plenty of tread remaining. As part of the car's restoration the suspension and brakes were totally overhauled and replaced with mostly brand new parts. The suspension is E30 325i Sport all round, with huge four pot calipers and larger discs at the front to give modern day braking.

HISTORY FILE
Four years ago the owner set out with a vision to create a unique BMW E30. The objective was to retain the classic look and feel of the eighties executive car but underpin it with modern drivability. The number one requirement was to enhance the classic BMW driving experience by ensuring safe, reliable fun.

The brief was more than achieved and the car now sports a larger, newer engine, bigger brakes, and sports suspension. A time warp Sport interior was also sourced and fitted, as was the full M Tech 2 body kit. With the appearance of an E30 325i Sport and drivability of a far newer example, the car may not be one for the purist but is certainly one for the enthusiast. Despite presenting in excellent, show-quality condition it is most definitely one to be driven and enjoyed.
