Chrysler VC-VG Valiant/Regal/VIP/Hardtop 1966-1971 – 2022 Market Review

2022 Aussie Family & Sports Car Market Review - Chrysler VC-VG Valiant/Regal/VIP/Hardtop 1966-1971

Between four series and in the space of five years, Chrysler Australia sold more than 230,000 of these cars and ensured plentiful supply for today’s buyers.

These were the cars that brought V8 power to the mainstream Valiant range and added plush VIP versions as well as the Dodge-based Hardtop. Basic VC-VG sedans and wagons sell today in good condition at around $20,000, with excellent Regals sometimes priced much higher but realistically worth $30-35,000.

Above them at $35,000+ sit VC V8s, various VIPs and Regal V8 Hardtops. Two-door VG Regals with the 123kW, 245 cubic nch six are desirable too and make similar money to the V8s.

A lot of Hardtops during the 1990s were destroyed when ‘chopped’ into convertibles and those that survive are now worth less than had they been left intact.

VC-VG $22,810 (27)

VC-VG Regal $32,110 (11)

VC V8 $39,500 (4)

VE-VG VIP $41,200 (5)

VF-VG H/Top $40,900 (5)

VF-VG Regal V8 H/Top $70,165 (3)

VF-VG Convertible $31,920 (5)
