Chrysler 300C Hemi 5.7 – Starter Classics $15K or less

Chrysler's 300C has road presence overload, even today

Perhaps we have previously described the 300C as a ‘brawler in a business suit’, but to that tag can now be added the words ‘low cost’.

When the beefy Mopar with its 5.7-litre engine arrived here in 2005 it cost $59,000, or $71,000 for the 317kW SRT8. Low kay 5.7s can be offered in the market at more money than we have allocated, but still keep an eye on any car you particularly like because keen vendors will negotiate.

In addition to its spacious cabin and a boot big enough to accommodate all kinds of nefarious cargo, the 300C includes quality leather seat facings, 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone air-con and Xenon headlights.

They do sit low and weigh over 1800kg though, so check for underbody damage.

No lack of mumbo either from the Hemi

Tow capacity (braked) if you have a bigger van or boat is a useful 1725kg.
