Chrysler's limited run of 50 SRT Pacer Tributes get a pricetag
In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Valiant Pacer, a limited-production tribute has been created based on the popular and powerful Chrysler 300 SRT.
When first toying with the idea, Fiat Chrysler Australia approached Unique Cars mag, which in turn introduced the firm to Megan and Ron Anderson, the owners of the VF Pacer shown above.
That car provided the inspiration for the project and the first modern prototype.
In the end, FCA evidently decided the market might struggle with the seventies colour scheme and has opted for the three-way choice shown below.
The $69,950 (plus on-road costs) 300 SRT Pacer Tribute is available in three colours, Bright White, Gloss Black and Ceramic Grey (below) and features several styling details that made the original such a hit, including bold side stripes and Pacer badging.
Power for the Pacer Tribute comes in the form of a 6.4-litre Hemi V8 claiming 350kW of power and 637Nm of torque, mated to a ZF 8-Speed automatic transmission that features launch control.
The model is aimed directly at enthusiasts wanting an affordable high-performance large four-door sedan, as the original was in 1969.
Available now, the Pacer Tribute is limited to just 50 units.
