Christmas Classics supporting veterans

Classics

Classics for a Cause has celebrated the holiday season in style, holding its annual Christmas Toy Drive in December, helping bring cheer to families who may need it a little bit more.

The Classics team were kept busy purchasing and wrapping hundreds of presents to give away with the help of veteran charity partner Legacy Australia for the event. Established by ex-servicemen, it provides support to the families of Australian Defence Force men and women who have been injured or lost their lives in service.

Classics for a Cause co-founder Thomas Bailey and general manager Anthony Bull were in attendance, speaking of the importance of the organisations support of Australian veterans.

It is the second year that Classics has partnered with Legacy Australia, after wrapping and sending off more than 600 presents to the children of veterans who died in service in 2023.

Legacy Australia organised delivery with all of its participating clubs this year, ensuring an even wider sharing of presents to families.

These presents were distributed to hundreds of deserving children throughout the country, to help bring some joy across what can be a difficult time of year for the families who have suffered greatly, and the holiday season may not be as joyous as it should be.

The Christmas Toy Drive is one of the bigger events that Classics runs, but is just one aspect of its support for Australian veterans.

Classics first started more than three years ago to support veterans by giving away beautiful and rare classic cars. Over that time, it has raised more than $3 million for a number of veteran’s charities, including Legacy Australia, and given away millions in classic cars to lucky winners across the country.

In support of Australian veterans, Classics had Salute for Service CEO Marc Diplock and general manager Lachlan Triggs in attendance at the Christmas Toy Drive to speak on the importance of charities and initiatives that support ex-servicemen and women.

More than half a million Australians have served in the Defence Force, meaning a staggering number of families across the nation are impacted by loss or injury.

Marc and Lachlan spoke on how Christmas can be a time of heightened stress for ex-servicemen and women, which can take a significant emotional toll on themselves and their families, especially those who are affected by PTSD or anxiety.

Veteran organisations and those that support them like Classics do an important job in supporting these families.

One of the ways you can support Classics is by joining the VIP Club, which gives you entries into their giveaways for classic cars for a monthly fee. Every month you’re a member, the more entries you receive.
